WHAT: The 2018 commemorative Maker’s Mark® bottle celebrates the 20th anniversary of the 1997-1998 men’s basketball national championship team, which earned the moniker “Comeback Cats.” This is the fourth commemorative Maker’s Mark® bottle in the series. The first three commemorative bottles honored the UK’s first six national championships.
Sales of the bottle benefit the UK Athletics Association’s Center for Academic and Tutorial Services (CATS), which serves student-athletes from all 22 UK varsity sports teams.
Tickets for the bottle signing were distributed online April 9 atKeeneland.com and are sold out. Each ticket permits the ticket bearer to have two bottles signed.
Bottles went on sale at retail outlets throughout Kentucky April 6. No bottles will be sold at the signing. All those participating must be 21 years of age or older. Clickhere for more information on the bottle signing at Keeneland.
On Friday night, players will hold a second bottle signing at Allsports in Fayette Mall from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
WHO: Coach Tubby Smith and team members Cameron Mills, Jeff Sheppard, Wayne Turner, Mike Bradley, Saul Smith, Ryan Hogan, Scott Padgett, Allen Edwards and Steve Masiello; Rob Samuels of Maker’s Mark and Keeneland President and CEO Bill Thomason will be available to sign the 2018 commemorative bottles.
