Teens' Facebook Live Appears To Show Injury Crash

Posted: Updated:

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WPSD Local 6) — Three teenage girls were injured in a rollover crash Wednesday evening and our sister station WPSD Local 6 reports that the teens may have been streaming on their social media before the crash.

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the crash around 6:00 p.m.  Three teenage girls had been ejected from a 2015 Jeep Wrangler.

Deputies say 16-year-old Logan Lampe of Paducah was driving the Jeep south on Contest Road when it left the road, went into a culvert, and collided head-on with a driveway culvert/embankment. The Jeep then became airborne, rolled over, and stopped upright in the culvert.

Three teenage girls, 16-year-old Sydney Peters of Paducah, 15-year-old Alexis Eastwood of Metropolis, and 16-year-old Taylor Walters of Metropolis, were in the Jeep.

Witnesses say just before the crash, they saw the three girls hanging out of the windows of the Jeep, sitting on the open window sills. It is believed that the girls were filming live video on social media at the time.

All three girls were taken to a local hospital with incapacitating injuries. Walters was later flown to an out of state hospital for treatment.

Lampe, the driver, was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt when the Jeep crashed.
