LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3) - It is unclear how much damage was left behind after a fire broke out at the Kentucky Center for the Arts on Wednesday.
According to WAVE 3 News, just after 2 p.m. a contractor was working to repair the roof when sparks from a metal grinder ignited the insulation.
A total of 70 firefighters were called in and it took them three hours to get the fire under control.
Christian Adelberg with the Kentucky Center told WAVE 3 News there is water damage to the main lobby, but his team has not been able to do a full assessment.
Adelberg said two years ago work began on a $1.1 million roof renovation project.
The next scheduled show isn't until Friday. The center will determine the status of upcoming shows after assessing the damage.
