Claire Kopsky joined the LEX 18 team in June 2018 as a multimedia journalist on Sunrise and fill-in anchor. Previously she was a multimedia journalist and anchor in the heart of the Show-Me State at KOMU, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. She covered a variety of stories including the indictment of the Governor, sexual assault issues in the loosely regulated massage therapy industry and free speech battles. Her passion is investigative reporting leading her to actively search for stories that positively impact the Lexington community.
Claire graduated from the University Missouri School of Journalism and earned a degree in Convergence Journalism with an emphasis in Television Reporting; and a minor in Business. Throughout college, she worked in digital, print, broadcast, and multimedia newsrooms. Claire also reported in Beijing, China, at the China Open Tennis Tournament, reported for a print and digital magazine in London, UK, and worked for a digital start up in New York City.
Claire enjoys free time spent outdoors exploring new trails, catching up with friends and family, singing and meeting new people. She values relationships and keeps up with individuals age 2 to 108! She’s a foodie to the core and is always looking for new restaurants to try! You’ll find her cheering on her favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals, rallying around her Mizzou Tigers and chipping balls on the nearest green. She is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and is thrilled to be in the Bluegrass telling stories of the spirited people of Kentucky.
Claire believes everyone has a story to share and would love to hear from you! If you’d like to connect or have a tip, let Claire know as she would be delighted to sit down and speak with you! Feel free to reach out to her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or via email!
