LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — "We're hiring" are two words hundreds of thousands of people are longing to hear, and a Lexington business is delivering.

LHC Group specializes in home health care, and have seen their need for staff increase during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Entering people's homes looks a little different in the age of COVID-19, but a team of nurses with LHC group is adjusting well.

"The company was incredibly responsive and was able to secure enough PPE for us to continue to safely provide all of the care that was required and ordered by physicians for our patients, " said Adam Daniels, a registered nurse and the regional vice president of operations for LHC Group.

The home healthcare company based in Louisiana and Louisville has offices scattered across central Kentucky, and during this time when healthcare needs and safety precautions are more heightened than ever, they are seeing the demand for their services grow.

"Folks are being quarantined in their homes, it's where they want to recover, it's where they want to heal, and home health can do that and oftentimes at a much lesser cost than some facility-based institutions," Daniels said.

Job searchers in Kentucky might recognize the names Commonwealth Home Health, Caretenders, and Lifeline Home Health Care, all of which are part of the LHC family. Right now they are looking to add 12 to 15 employees to their team. Not all require a medical background or even a college diploma.

"It's a variety of positions,” Daniels said. “We have some nursing positions both RN and LPN, we have some office staff openings, office assistant or RN patient qualified managers, as well as therapy staff, physical and occupational therapy."

Daniels said he is happy to bring his team back to Lexington and surrounding areas and to invest in local communities.

“And to be able to add not only jobs but high paying jobs that we know most of our communities are in great need of right now," he added.
