2 victims identified after Wolfe County explosion

WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Four people were taken to the hospital and two bodies were found following an explosion and fire, according to KSP Sergeant Bret Kirkland.

Reportedly the explosion happened on Harvest Church Loop Road in Wolfe County around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

As of Sunday morning, there's no word on what caused the explosion.

Kirkland said that two bodies were found in the basement of the home. Kirkland said they are not sure if they were already down there when the explosion happened.

The two bodies have been identified as 52-year-old Phillip Vanderpool and 48-year-old Sueann Vanderpool, according to the Wolfe County coroner.

The state inspectors office and the fire marshal are now investigating.

All donations can be made or dropped off at the Campton Head Start.
