Scattered thunderstorms will be fizzle this evening. Some still could be on the strong side with gusty winds and torrential rain. Tomorrow will be a fairly delightful July day. The muggies will ease up and highs will run in the mid to upper 80s. Enjoy it! The high summertime heat and humidity will come blazing back in this weekend with highs in the lower 90s and heat indices approaching the triple digits in spots.

We are also watching now Tropical Storm Barry in the northern Gulf. It will strengthen to a hurricane before making landfall as early as Saturday afternoon. Louisiana and Mississippi are bracing for very heavy rain, storm surge, and inland flooding. Eventually the rain from Barry will find its way to the Bluegrass by the middle of next week. The path of the storm is still very subject to change.
