LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Magic the Miniature therapy horse visited the kids in the Kentucky Children's Hospital Friday.
The little horse's mission is to inspire hope and serve as a distraction from the tough battle that the kids face every day.
The charity Gentle Carousel brings horses like Magic to visit more than 25,000 adults and kids each year in hospitals and hospices. They also visit families and first responders who have experienced traumatic events.
Gentle Carousel Executive Director Jorge Garcia-Bengochen said that Magic has lived up to her name.
"She went to a nursing home, and a woman had been there, she hadn't spoken in years, and she put her head in her lap and she said 'It's a horse,'" said Garcia Bengochen.
