A mild day before more cold

Sunday will be the "warmest" day of the next week.

Tomorrow will be a day to get some yard work done, take a hike to view the fall colors, or simply to go outside and enjoy a mild November day. Highs will be near 60°. This is the "warmest" that we'll be for at least a week. The next Arctic punch is lurking around the corner.

Rain will change to snow Monday night as an Arctic cold front slices through the Commonwealth. Some areas, especially the higher elevations of southeastern Kentucky, could pick up very light accumulations. The bigger story will be the near-record cold that will follow. We likely won't make it out of the 20s on Tuesday; that would challenge the coldest maximum temperature for the date. It will stay brutally cold on Wednesday with a low in the teens and highs only back near freezing.
