Talk about a rude adjustment. It will be all about the bitter cold for a couple more days. Temperatures will return to the teens with wind chills in the single digits by morning. The wind will become less of a factor as this Arctic high slides overhead. So with the help of sunshine and a lighter wind we'll be able to squeeze out a few more degrees with highs in the lower 30s tomorrow.

The cold does have an expiration date. We'll climb above freezing on Tuesday, and by Wednesday we'll return to the 40s. Temperatures will continue to warm through late-week. On Friday we'll be in the 50s. This milder surge of air will also bring chance rains. Showers will arrive late Thursday, continue Friday, and end Saturday. Some colder air will try to move in, so a few wet snowflakes are possible on the tail end of the late week system.
