LEXINGTON — A man arrested in connection with a downtown Lexington shooting last month was in court Friday.

Police say that on June 24, Wesley Brown II shot someone near the intersection of North Martin Luther King Boulevard and East Third Street. Police used security footage from a local Marathon gas station to piece the details of the crime together. Brown previously entered a not guilty plea to charges of assault and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Brown appeared in court Friday for the preliminary hearing.
