Things are getting brutal outside as temperatures made it to the low and middle 90s. Factor in the dew point, which has reached the middle 70s and the heat index has reached the low triple digits. The heat continues to stick around this weekend, but a big change is coming.

The hottest of the current heat wave will be tomorrow. Temperatures will start in the mid-70s offering little relief from the heat. Skies will be mostly sunny on Saturday allowing plenty of sunshine to increase the mercury. The afternoon highs will surpass 90 and top out around 95 degrees. With the humidity in place, you can expect heat index values to reach the mid triple digits. The EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING and HEAT ADVISORY will continue through the weekend. We begin to cool, albeit slightly, on Sunday as clouds and rain chances move in. Scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected as pressure lowers on Sunday afternoon. Temperatures cool further as a cold front slides in Monday. This front is bringing a cool Canadian air mass which will usher in a drier air mass as well. Meaning, it will be about 10-15 degrees cooler next week and it will feel a lot more comfortable as well.
