(LEX 18) — A benefit was held this past weekend for a man who was shot and later died after a shooting in Northern Kentucky.
Michael Holbrook was shot in the neck on June 29 while attending a party in Burlington, Kentucky.
Police said it happened after he and suspect Steven Herald got into an argument.
Holbrook died Wednesday after weeks of being in critical condition.
Holbrook was 46 when he died.
On Saturday, Holbrook's family held a special benefit in the Cincinnati area in his honor.
"He is a marine and he fought like a marine would fight to hold on to life and tried so hard for almost four weeks," said Samantha Panno, Holbrook's sister.
All procceds from the raffle and the benefit entrance fee are going toward the former marine's funeral and medical bills.
