JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A winner was crowned this evening at the Barbasol Championship in Nicholasville.
Cincinnati native Jim Herman hoisted the trophy, and it's a pretty nice piece of hardware - brand new in fact.
After coming out victorious shooting 26 under, Herman’s name will join others, engraved on this fine piece of hardware.
“We have a trophy presented by Tiffany and Company this year, it's a brand new trophy from last year so we're really excited about that,” said Lauren Vernon with Keene Trace Golf Club.
LEX 18 was there earlier this week when the new trophy was unboxed ahead of the pairings party at Winstar Farm. Of course it came in a signature Tiffany's blue box.
“I think it's cool and I think anything provided by Tiffany and company is bound to be beautiful,” said Vernon.
You may have seen the hardware out at the course this week. It was on display in several skyboxes for fans to take pictures with ahead of the final day, although it was kept under close watch.
“It is secured by our team at Barbasol Championship so we've got a team of people their job will just be to man that trophy and make sure it gets to where it needs to be,” said Vernon.
They had to make sure the trophy ended up in the right hands and it looks like Jim Herman welcomed the coveted prize with open arms.
