LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– As Christmas gets closer, preparations for the 23rd Annual Faith and Community Christmas Store are underway.

“This is such a beautiful time because it shows the compassion of our community,” said Ginny Ramsey with the Faith and Community Store.

On Thursday, volunteers began setting up at Southland Christian Church’s Richmond Road campus.

The Christmas shopping destination will open on Tuesday. They expect 18,000 kids to be shopped for over the three day period. Those loved ones that are shopping for the kids don’t have to pay a dime.

Donations of gently used or new toys are needed and can be dropped off at the Southland Christian Church Richmond Road. They can be dropped off by December 20 by noon. They have a container for after hour donations.

Volunteers are needed 10 a.m. -4 p.m. Friday Dec. 14, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday Dec. 15,
Sunday Dec. 16 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. and Monday Dec. 17 10 a.m. -4 p.m. for set up at Store location.
