FRANKFORT, Ky.  (LEX 18) — A student at Kentucky State University is looking out for his fellow classmates by making sure they are dressed for success.

KSU senior Michael Weaver believes in the motto, “Look Good, Feel Good.”

“My head blows up, I feel great. I love dressing up,” said Weaver.

Weaver is a sharp dresser and just as sharp in the classroom. When he realized that some of his fellow students aren’t as fortunate as he is to have such a well-curated wardrobe, he decided to make a change.

“I wanted to make sure I could do something to at least help, help them get that attire, and I don’t want them to miss out on opportunities because they don’t have the right clothes,” he said.

He is holding a professional clothing drive for men and women, collecting as many suits and other apparel as possible to set others up for success in work and in school.

“When you dress up, you’re more likely to do the things you need to do. You’re on time, you do your work. I wanted to make sure all my students feel empowered,” he said. “I wanted to make sure I did something for the community, something for my students, so I guess the next thing would be nationally, and then globally, so yeah, that’s what I’m working on.”
