CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (LEX18) — While most have Halloween on the brain, a group in Clay County is all Christmas, all the time. They call themselves Second Chance Santa, and they are working to make sure no child in eastern Kentucky goes without something under the tree this year.

Everywhere you look in Tina Napier's Manchester home you see toys. Teddy bears, dolls, books, you name it, all of them waiting to head to their new homes.

"We didn't have a lot when I was growing up, and I always felt left out, " Tina Napier explained.

Napier started working on this project last December. She put the word out on Facebook, and donations immediately started pouring in.

"Before you know it we got five, six truckloads of toys out here, " Napier said.

After recruiting some helpers, most of whom have known each other since childhood, they've got hundreds of donations.

"We wrap 'em up with cellophane, clean' em up, make them look brand new, " Napier said.

Everything is sanitized and everything works properly. If the toys are not new, they make sure they look it.

Their reach right now is Clay County, Jackson County and Laurel County, but their hope is to bring joy to as many kids as possible. Come December, they will have a party to hand out the toys, open to any child, no questions asked.

"To make a lot of children happy. To feed 'em, take pictures, give 'em toys, and do it all again next year, " Napier said of her goal.

Their big Christmas party is set for December 7th from 12-4pm at the Christian Youth Center in Manchester. They are in need of monetary donations to buy more batteries, cellophane and other costs for the party.
