WINCHESTER, Ky. (LEX 18) — A foundation started in honor of a young boy who lost his life in an alleged drunk driving incident will be hosting a toy drive and concert in his memory.

Four-year-old Marco Shemwell was struck and killed while walking with his family outside of a University of Kentucky football game in 2018. Shemwell became an organ donor following his death and his family decided to keep making a difference in their son's name.

The Marco Shemwell Foundation will host a Christmas toy drive and concert Saturday evening for the kids of the Kentucky Children's Hospital.

The event will be held at the Leeds Center for the Arts beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. You can help by bringing a new toy or book. There will be performances by Peach of Bluegrass and Kids in Revival.
