LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Fayette County Coroner has released the name of the 17-year-old who was shot and killed on Friday.
According to the coroner, Bryant D. Gaston Jr. died from a gunshot wound at a home in the 1900 block of Kingtree Court in Lexington.
A 15-year-old male suspect has been charged in connection with the shooting.
The suspect, who Lexington Police said they cannot name because of his age, was arrested Friday and has been charged with murder.
Investigators believe that the suspect, victim and a third friend had been in possession of a handgun when the shooting happened.
Following the male suspect's arrest, he was taken to the Fayette Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
