FRANKLIN CO. (LEX 18) — The Franklin County Coroner tells LEX 18 that the body of a 14-year-old boy was recovered from Elkhorn Creek Tuesday.

He said reports came in that someone jumped into the creek off the ramp. A search and rescue team responded, as well as the sheriff's office, emergency management, and city and county fire fighters.

The preliminary cause of death is drowning.

The coroner identified the victim as Landon Smith. He said the teen and his family were camping at the Still Waters Campground.
