LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Dozens of couples are in limbo after a national wedding venue company filed for bankruptcy and closed the doors at its Louisville venue.

Kaylin Walker and her fiance Cameron Montgomery live in Lexington. They got engaged in February of this year. The couple booked their wedding at Noah's in Louisville for June 27, 2020, and paid $4,200 for the venue. Now, the wedding will not be held at that location.

After noticing some chatter on social media, Walker found out that the Utah-based company had filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

Walker and Montgomery, like so many other couples, are back to square one in their wedding planning.

In a statement, Noah's Vice President of Marketing said, "We received word late Tuesday that our landlords no longer want us as the tenant of the Louisville location. We are deeply saddened and heartbroken that our landlords rejected our lease offers."

An email was sent to clients saying that they can submit a refund request, but couples want to know if that request will be completed.

"Now I'm trying to like, oh what do we want to do now? Do we get up and do a destination wedding, a smaller wedding, or find something local in Lexington, or find something in Louisville that is within our price range," Walker said.

This is not the only venue that Noah's is closing. They are closing four as of now. The company has been renegotiating leases on its properties as it undergoes reorganization after filing bankruptcy.
