JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Congressional candidate Amy McGrath spent Monday rallying for votes in Anderson, Jessamine, and Fayette Counties.

McGrath made visits in Lawrenceburg and Nicholasville on Election Eve. She met up with her volunteers face-to-face to say thank you for all their time and energy on her campaign and energize them as they canvassed neighborhoods to get a feel for who is supporting her.

Some polls show McGrath in a dead heat with Republican Andy Barr.

She told LEX 18 that she knows there is a lot of red in Kentucky’s Sixth Congressional District and a lot of loyal Republican voters who are coming out for Andy Barr. The retired Lt. Colonel and Political newcomer says she knew what she was getting into when she decided to run.

I knew it was going to be nasty, that’s why nobody wants to get into politics. Of all the things I’ve done in my life, I felt like this is really important, and I know my name is going to be smeared,” she said.
