Expect Railbird Fest, Midsummer Night's Run traffic issues this weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - — It's going to be a busy weekend in Lexington with both the Midsummer Night's Run and the Railbird Music Festival are expected to bring thousands of people in.

Lexington police say the area around downtown is going to be extra congested. Both North Limestone and Short Street are going to blocked off Saturday night for the annual 5K run. Barricades and officers on foot patrol will control traffic.

Versailles Road by Keeneland is also expected to have heavy traffic for the first annual Railbird Music Festival. In order to assure that travel stays safe, police will be present throughout the city al weekend long with extra patrols on the roads and on-site at the festival.
