MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Sunday many are cleaning up damage left behind by Saturday's storms, while some are just grateful to be alive.

Jessica Smith lived in a mobile home in Richmond until Saturday’s strong winds blew the trailer over.

It flipped twice while Smith and two others were inside.

“This is a huge object to me and it was blown over as if it was just like a cracker box,” said Smith.

Nobody was severely injured. Smith said everyone is mostly sore from hitting objects while the mobile home flipped.

“If you could toss a house like a salad, that’s what it looks like,” she said.

About a dozen friends and family members showed up to the property on Sunday to help clean and sort through what items could be saved.

“If we have to walk away and can’t take anything with us, our lives have been saved,” said Smith. “That’s perfectly fine with me.”

An assortment of clothes and furniture had to be pulled out from the broken windows of the mobile home. Smith told LEX 18 different family members will be storing them until they can figure out what to do next.

“Just gonna kind of figure it out as we go. I don’t think we have a game plan yet,” said Smith.
