(LEX 18) — Another candidate has entered his name to the list of those hoping to challenge Mitch McConnell.

Mike Broihier, of Stanford, has filed to run in the Democratic primary in hopes that he will be able to challenge the Senate Majority Leader in 2020. According to his campaign website, Broihier is a "farmer and educator, former small-town newspaper editor and military veteran."

Broihier released a three-minute campaign video early Thursday morning.

In May of this year, Steven Cox of Hopkins County also announced his intent to run. Both men will face off against Ret. Lt. Col. Amy McGrath in the May Primary. Neither of the two other rumored candidates, State Representative Rocky Adkins and Hey Kentucky! host Matt Jones, have filed.

Jones was asked to take a leave of absence from LEX 18 as he mulls over his decision to run. The winner will face off against the incumbent majority leader McConnell in November of 2020.
