Frankfort Police investigate domestic dispute that led to shooting

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Frankfort Police are investigating a domestic dispute that they believe led to a shooting.

It was reported that police were called to the 800 block of Columbia Avenue just after 2 p.m. on Saturday for a physical domestic dispute.

Police said officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

His condition is unknown, according to police.

Police said Gene W. Long, 65, has been charged with assault, domestic violence, in the first-degree.

The Frankfort Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.
