LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington has partnered with the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station to announce the Free Trash Disposal Day for Fayette County residents.
The Free Trash Disposal Day is for non-hazardous household waste.
The event has been scheduled for Saturday, Jul 13, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station on Old Frankfort Pike.
Residents can dispose of up to one pickup truck full of household waste. Items that are normally serviced through Lexington's curbside collection program will be accepted.
These items include bagged household waste, mattresses, small furniture and up to four tires off the rim.
Construction and demolition debris and larger items will not be accepted free of charge, but can be dropped off at the regular rate during the event.
Other items that will not be accepted include appliances, electronics and hazardous materials. Appliances can be taken to Environmental Recycling Incorporated on Winchester Road for no cost.
Electronic items can be dropped off to the Electronics Recycling Center on Versailles Road at no cost.
Liquid latex paint can be given to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Southland Drive.

- Must have a valid Fayette County driver's license
- Loads must fit in standard truck bed
- Loads must be covered by tarp
- Regular household waste only
- No more than four tires and must be off the rim
- No tire rims
- No commercial vehicles
- No hazardous materials
- Construction and demolition debris not included in free event
Lexington offers four Free Trash Disposal Days a year: January, April, July and October.
