LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Since his death last week, the Big Blue Nation has continued to honor the life of former UK quarterback Jared Lorenzen.

In KSBar and Grille Friday, visitors could see the greatest moments of Lorenzen's career playing on the projectors and TVs. The sports bar, brought to you by the folks at Kentucky Sports Radio, is honoring their friend by raising money for the Jared Lorenzen Fund. This weekend, the bar will donate 22 percent of the sales to the fund, to honor the UK legend's number, 22.

The fund is set up to help pay the college expenses for Lorenen's two children.

The former UK player and Giants quarterback died on July 3 after being hospitalized due to a heart infection and kidney issue. He was only 38-years-old at the time of his death.

Lorenzen is known for setting several UK school records in passing yards and passing touchdowns. He is also known for his work off the field, including teaming up with Now Let's Get Fit, an organization to help kids make healthy lifestyle choices.

"It gives you a lot of pride that there was someone who played for UK that felt as he felt, and gave back to all the people that were good to him," said Becky Gott.

The fundraiser will be going on at KSBar and Grille until Sunday. You can also donate here.
