Talk about a calmer day. A low cloud deck on the backside of yesterday's powerhouse system has felt us on the chilly side. But at least the wind has calmed down and it's just stubborn clouds hanging around. We will keep things on the quieter side heading into the work week. Temperatures are about to climb again. We won't climb back into record territory, but it will be getting warmer again. Mid 50s tomorrow then highs return to the 60s mid-week. The rising temperatures will also bring increasing rain chances beginning Tuesday afternoon. Showers will creep northward late Tuesday. A rumble of thunder can't be ruled out for our southern counties. The best widespread chances will come on Wednesday.
Where's winter you may ask? We are about to make up for all the springtime warmth that we have been enjoying since Christmas week. The coldest air mass of 2020 will rush in on Saturday. It appears the transition to winter will also bring chances for rain and snow showers. Temperatures will stay much colder through at least Martin Luther King Day.
