FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentuckians are showing Governor Andy Beshear some love through memes and helping others laugh a little through a stressful time.

A Facebook group called "andy beshear memes for social distancing teens" has blown up over the last few days. It was created on Friday and as of noon on Monday, the group had 70,000 members (and counting).

In the group, you can find memes showing Beshear as Superman, Captain America, Mister Rogers, Kermit the Frog, and many others. Some show the governor destroying the coronavirus and protecting Kentucky from the virus.

Others show the governor comforting Kentuckians during a tense time.

Even members of Beshear's team, like American Sign Language interpreter, Virginia Moore, are getting some attention.

The question is: what does Governor Beshear think of the memes? He says he's for it if it's helping people get through this situation.
"If it makes people smile right now, I'm for it," said Beshear. "All of you all are making sacrifices, and if a meme helps to get a laugh at a time that we need more laughs - go for it."

So if you need a laugh, check out the memes or even make your own.
