GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Health officials in Garrard County are encouraging people possibly exposed to hepatitis A at a local restaurant to get vaccinated.

The County Health Department reports that an employee of the McDonald’s in Lancaster recently tested positive for the illness.

That employee is not currently working at the restaurant.

Officials say the risk of catching the illness through food or water exposure is very low.

Nevertheless, experts recommend anyone who ate at the restaurant between Dec. 5, 2018, and Jan. 9, should get the vaccination and report any symptoms to the doctor.
