LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A pilot landed a helicopter off a rural road in Laurel County on Sunday afternoon causing first responders to be called.

Laurel County Sheriff's Deputies tell LEX 18 a helicopter landed unexpectedly near Highway 1394.

They said only one person was aboard the aircraft.

The East Bernstadt Fire Department posted on their Facebook page that they were called by concerned citizens about a possible helicopter crash. But once they arrived, the pilot told them he meant to land there because he was working on a job. He reportedly didn't have any issues landing.

The unusual ride to work did create some alarm for people passing by, but no one was hurt.
