FONDE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police release the name of the individual involved in the officer involved shooting in Bell County.
Gary Partin, 57 years old of Frakes was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to Kentucky State Police, a Bell County Sheriff's Deputy responded to a call in the Fonde community around 8:00 Saturday night.
KSP says he spotted a man operating an ATV on a road, and tried to initiate a traffic stop.
State Police say the man didn't stop, and continued on the road.
At one point, KSP says the man "brandished a firearm," and that led to the officer opening fire.
The coroner pronounced the driver of the ATV dead at the scene.
The case remains under investigation.
