WINCHESTER, Ky. (Winchester Sun/LEX 18 News) — The Winchester Sun is reporting that a Winchester man has pleaded guilty to reduced charges in a shooting that left two 16 year-old girls dead.

The newspaper reports 25 year-old Matthew Carmen pleaded guilty to manslaughter, and agreed to a 20-year prison sentence. He was originally charged with murder.

The charges stem from a shooting in 2017 outside an apartment building in Winchester.

Police say Carmen was in a gunfight with three other people when Adrianna Castro and Kayla Holland got caught in the crossfire.

Two other defendants, Ronnie Ellis and Denzel Hill, have pleaded guilty to facilitation to commit murder.

The fourth defendant, Darian Skinner, is due to appear in court later this month.
