LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — New Circle Road on Lexington's northeast side has reopened to traffic after an injury crash shut down the roadway.
The crash ruptured a gas line and downed electrical lines.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the crash occurred just before 8 a.m. on New Circle Road near Floyd Drive.
Officials said two people were injured and taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately disclosed.
Columbia Gas and Kentucky Utilities crews also were on the scene.
Emergency crews initially shut down all lanes of New Circle between Floyd Drive and Meadow Lane. By 8:30 a.m., officials said the outer loop remain closed while the inner loop was reopened to traffic.
The full roadway was reopened just after 9 a.m.
