(LEX 18) — A judge has dismissed a $250 million lawsuit from a Northern Kentucky high schooler whose attorneys accused the media of smearing his name after a viral video.

The January video showed Nick Sandmann face-to-face with a Native American elder. He and his classmates were on the National Mall.

The teen said he received death threats due to the unfair coverage from several outlets, however, a judge decided to toss his lawsuit against The Washington Post out, saying that the paper's article didn't claim Sandmann had been racist or violent with the man.

The teen's cases against CNN and NBC are still active.
