FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky State University athletic department is giving members of the community an opportunity to get an early look at a pair of their fall sports teams this week.
KSU head coach DiShondra Goreewill put the volleyball team through the paces during an intrasquad scrimmage, Rock Da Bell, as Kentucky State will be bringing intercollegiate volleyball back to Bell Gymnasium. The events begins 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 29.
During the event, the Kentucky State University cross country team will be introduced to the fans.
Volleyball kicks off its regular season September 6 and 7 in the Janet Collins Invitational in Murfreesboro, N.C., before returning home to host the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference West Division Cluster. The three-day SIAC event begins on September 12.
On Saturday, the annual Green vs Gold fall scrimmage will take place beginning at 12:30 p.m. in Alumni Stadium. The Mighty Marching Thorobreds and the Kentucky State University cheerleaders will be in attendance for this annual event.
