KSP investigating deadly crash in Whitley County

WHITLEY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Troopers are investigating a deadly crash in Whitley County.

Trooper say it happened shortly after 6:30p.m. on Friday on KY HWY 2989 in the Corbin area.

Troopers tell us a 2007 GMC pick-up truck was traveling south on Highway 2989 when the driver lost control and went off the roadway.

Reportedly the truck hit a guide wire and utility pole before flipping over.

Troopers say 46-year-old Perry Farris was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
