DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A pair of Kentucky State Police troopers made a 9-year-old boy's birthday party unforgettable this weekend.

Troopers Corey King and Shawn Schroader made a surprise visit to the party in Owensboro for a boy named Jacob who has autism, according to a Facebook post by KSP.

But autism doesn't stop Jacob from being a normal kid. The Facebook post said that he loves police officers and especially police badges. KSP Troopers teamed up with the Owenboro Police Department to give him just that.

Trooper King said, “It was a special day and reminded me one of the most important reasons I became a Trooper: community. Our job is not always thankless. Thank you, Jacob! Happy Birthday! “

KSP included hashtags at the end of their post: #respectthebadge #respecteachother
