LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky State Police are wrapping up their annual food drive to help people in need over the holiday season.

The "Cram the Cruiser" initiative started on Monday, Nov. 25 and runs through Monday, Dec. 9.

A number of 'Cram the Cruiser' events were held on Sunday, Dec. 8 in a final push for donations.

Several Kroger grocery stores across Kentucky took part, including the one on Bryan Station Road in Lexington, as well as Kroger stores in Richmond, Georgetown, Frankfort, Morehead, Somerset and Corbin.

The event typically brings in thousands of pounds of non-perishable food that is distributed to food pantry's across the Commonwealth.

This marks the tenth year for the food drive.
