LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Kentucky Sports Radio and KSBar & Grille have stepped up to honor the life and legacy of former University of Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen.
Lorenzen, 38, died after being hospitalized for a few days. Lorenzen was signed by the New York Giants in 2004.
Lorenzen had openly struggled with his weight and had returned to Lexington to team up with "Now Let's Get Fit" organization to help children make healthy lifestyle choices.
He attended Fort Thomas Highlands High School, where he played basketball and baseball.
KSR has started a Jared Lorenzen Memorial Fund, which is designed to help pay for college for Lorenzen's two children.
From July 12 to 14, KSBar & Grille will be showing Lorenzen's best games on the big screen and 22 percent of all sales will go towards the Jared Lorenzen Memorial Fund.
Donations can be made as well.
