Laurel County man killed in Knox County car crash

KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Laurel County man is dead after a single-car crash in Knox County.

Kentucky State Police troopers said it happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Friday on Ky 459 in the Barbourville community.

Based on their preliminary investigation, troopers said they believed that Jeremiah Jackson, 22, of London was driving south in a 2015 Dodge Challenger when he crossed the center line.

Jackson reportedly entered the north bound lane, then left the roadway and hit a tree on the driver's side of the car.

Jackson was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers did not indicate what may have caused the crash and an investigation is ongoing.
