LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — One person was taken to the hospital following a crash involving a Lexington firetruck.

According to officials on scene, the truck was responding to a gas leak and was turning onto Nicholasville Road from Malabu Drive when it was struck by a silver Scion.

The driver in the Scion apparently told police that she did not see or hear the siren. The Scion damaged the truck's front bumper.

The woman driving the car was taken to UK Medical Center with minor injuries. There were three firefighters in the truck at the time of the crash. None of them were injured.

The roadway is now open.
