Lexington man accused in brother-in-law's death set for competency hearing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A competency hearing has been rescheduled for a Lexington man accused of killing his brother-in-law.

Willow Bruce Cherry, 45, has been accused of killing Peter Lian. Lian had previously been reported missing in February 2018.

When police came to the Mount Tabor apartment building, they determined that Lian was killed during a fight with Cherry.

Lian’s body has not been found.

Cherry has entered a not guilty plea to his charges.

His competency hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, but has been rescheduled for July 18 at 2:30 p.m.
