LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — First responders were on the scene of a crash at Northside Drive and Wayland Drive on Friday night.
One of the vehicles apparently involved is a police cruiser, according to our crew at the scene.
Police in Lexington have said they believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Police told LEX 18 that surveillance video from a house nearby caught a Nissan Altima running a stop sign and hitting a police cruiser.
Two people were in the Nissan. The driver of the Nissan and the police officer were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers could be seen pulling multiple empty bottles from the Nissan and placing them on the roof of the car.
A neighbor who heard the crash from her house said that stretch of road has been a problem.
"Because it's just a two way stop and not a four way stop... And I've seen accidents there before," said Eva Watts.
As of Saturday morning, no arrests have been made.
