LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police are investigating a string of car break-ins along Todd's Road.
Officers received a call shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday from neighbors on Bunch Berry Row who said they saw someone burglarizing a car.
Police told LEX 18 that when a detective nearby went to check out what was going on, a gray passenger car leaving the area hit his police cruiser and took off.
Police said they have received several reports of car break-ins around that neighborhood over the last few weeks. Reportedly the burglars are often smashing windows.
Officers want to remind everyone not to leave any valuables inside your car. Also, if you see something suspicious, call police.
Police are searching for whoever is responsible.
