LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A local priest is stepping in to help the family of two young women who died in a crash on I-75 last week.

Father Jim Sichko is covering the remaining funeral and burial expenses for sisters Taylor Blevins and Caitlyn Bailey of Georgetown.

The pair was killed on Wednesday when they were hit head-on by a wrong way driver on I-75.

Police believe that driver, Tammy Rodriguez, was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A Gofundme page had been set up to help the family pay for the unexpected costs.

Father Jim said he felt compelled to help.

“It was such a tragedy, you know, these two young girls, kind of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Knowing that their family is in need as well, I just wanted to reach out and assist in any way I can,” said Father Jim.

Lexington Police charged Rodriguez with DUI and driving without a license.

Debbie Lynn Bevins also died in the crash. She was inside the car with Rodriguez.
