LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington service dog is a finalist for the 2019 American Humane Hero Dog of the Year and she needs your votes.
For nearly three years Alice has been helping Antonio Reese, and his family says she's saved his life multiple times.
Reese was shot in the head while riding in a car with his family in 2015 when he was 9-years-old. He had to undergo brain surgery and deals with long-term complications like seizures, migraines and balance issues.
Alice alerts his family to possibly life-threatening seizures and helps him with balance.
“Alice is a hero in our eyes, because without her, Antonio would not be able to do the simple things in life that we take for granted," said Antonio's mom Tara.
