LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The inaugural Railbird Music Festival starts today at Keeneland.

Organizers tell LEX 18 that they aim to showcase world-class artists, as well as highlight the rich culture and traditions of the Bluegrass.

Before the artists hit the stage, people with VIP tickets will be treated to a brunch featuring local food. The music kicks off at 1 p.m. with multiple stages to showcase talent like Brandi Carlisle and Tyler Childers.

There will also be culinary demonstrations put on by local celebrity chefs like Ouita Michel...and of course, there will be bourbon.

"We've got people coming from 49 states and other countries. All over, you know, well beyond Lexington and the state of Kentucky. So, it's the opportunity to showcase what makes Lexington and Keeneland such a destination," said Jeff Cuellar, the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for AC Entertainment.

The first night of the festival coincides with the Midsummer Night's Run in downtown Lexington. Police say to expect a lot of traffic issues.
