(LEX 18) — Photographer Kristen Sutherland is capturing families' lives while social distancing in a different way: through family-style portraits.

"I'm taking front porch mini photo sessions for families who are kind of locked in," Sutherland said.

She's done several photo shoots featuring families beside rolls of toilet paper, disinfecting wipes, and moms holding wine.

"For me to get to do something that is out of the norm, so to speak, is kind of nice," Sutherland said. "It's actually fun for me too, which is great."

On Sunday morning, she photographed the Deerhake family.

Mandy Deerhake and her 7-year-old twin girls posed with the usual suspects: toilet paper and disinfecting wipes.

They also wore"Be Kind" t-shirts during the second phase of the shoot.

"We're all trying to get by and figuring this out, so the least we could do is be kind to each other," Deerhake said.

It's a message she hopes resonates with others as we all go through a difficult time.
